Monday, Sept. 25

Fellowship of Christian Students meets at 7 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays in Room 148. Students are invited to build caring friendships, strengthen their faith, pray for our school, and serve the community.

Varsity golf has a tournament at Overland Park Golf Course at 1 p.m.

JV golf has a meet at Gardner Golf Course at 3 p.m.

JV tennis has an at home dual at 3 p.m. against Gardner Edgerton.

Writers Club meets at 3:15 p.m. in Room 217 (Ms. Johnson’s room). Students who enjoy creative writing can come and write with others. Members will share prompts with each other, write together, and volunteers are welcome to share their work.

C-team and freshman volleyball compete in a triangular at Shawnee Mission South at 5 p.m.

C-team soccer has a match at home at 6:30 p.m.

Spirit week theme: PJ day

Tuesday, Sept. 26

Chesty’s Academy Tutoring is offered 3:15-5 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday in Room 212 (Ms. Henry’s Room) for anyone who needs help with homework after school.
Pride Club meets every Tuesday from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in room 328.

Pokemon Club meets every Tuesday from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in room 326.

JV soccer has a match at home against Olathe West at 5 p.m.

Varsity and JV volleyball compete in a triangular at Shawnee Mission South at 5 p.m.

Varsity soccer has a match at home against Olathe West at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 27

Varsity golf competes at an invitational at Eagle Bend Golf Course at 9 a.m.

Françamis: The French Club meets from 1:30-2:45 p.m. in the French Room, Room 353.

Can We Talk & SAFE club will have a meeting this Wednesday in room 203 at 1:30  p.m. At the end of sixth hour, grab and eat your lunch, and then meet us in room 203. Snacks will be provided. New members are always welcome. 

Book Club meets at 1:35 p.m. in Room 217 (Ms. Johnson’s room). 

JV tennis competes in a dual at Free State at 3 p.m.

C-team soccer has a match at Olathe North at 5 p.m.

Homecoming Parade and Rally Around the Lion start at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 28

Varsity tennis competes at the Sunflower League at the College Boulevard Activity Center (CBAC) Tennis Complex at 8 a.m.

JV golf has a meet at Oak Country Golf Course at 9:30 a.m.

The homecoming assembly during third hour will preview members of the court and a Room 308 video featuring court members. Check out our introductions to the candidates here and here.

Philosophy Club meets 3:15-4:15 p.m. in Ms. Murray’s room, Room 211, to discuss mind-boggling questions and moral dilemmas — all the while in a safe and honest environment. 

Freshman football plays at Shawnee Mission North at 4 p.m.

JV soccer has a match against Olathe North at the Olathe District Activity Center ( ODAC W SCR).

Gymnastics has an invitational at the Mill Creek Campus at 5:30 p.m.

All volleyball teams compete in a duel at Gardener Edgerton. Freshmen and JV compete at 5:30 p.m. Varsity and C Team play at 6:30 p.m.

Varsity soccer has a match at ODC W SCR against Olathe North at 7 p.m.

Spirit week theme: country vs country club

Friday, Sept. 29

Homecoming football game against Shawnee Mission North starts at 7 p.m. Crowning will be at halftime.

Saturday, Sept. 30

The Joan Wells Volleyball Tournament starts at 9 a.m. and will use both gyms at home. The tournament is named for a former longtime LHS coach. The varsity team will compete in the tournament

Freshman volleyball competes in a tournament at Gardner Edgerton starting at 9 a.m.

Varsity and JV gymnastics have a meet at Shawnee Mission West at 9:30 a.m.

Cross country has a meet at Shawnee North Community Center at 9 a.m.

The homecoming dance starts at 7 p.m.

Photo retakes are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 9 in the Learning Commons, Room 311. Most LHS students with no school photo taken have had times assigned to them. Times have been emailed to student email addresses. We will also accept a limited number of walk-ups for photos before school, starting at 7:30 a.m. and during fifth hour.

Senior yearbook ads for the class of 2024 are on sale now. Talent Show tryouts are Tuesday, Oct. 3; Wednesday, Oct. 4, and Thursday, Oct. 5, after school in the Black Box Theater. Can you sing, juggle, dance, rap, act, play an instrument or have another special talent the world should absolutely see? Then WE WANT YOU! You can try-out in person or send a video try-out digitally to Ms. Thomas by midnight on Friday, Oct. 6. Pick up your try-out form and rules or scan the QR code in Student Services. Pick up your activity ticket in the main office. Temporary activity tickets are no longer valid. Activity Passes will get you in at no charge to all varsity home regular season events tournaments and postseason excluded. The cost of an activity ticket is $25 but many students have already paid an activity ticket because of their involvement in sports or other KSHSAA activities including school music groups and debate or forensics.
