For the second consecutive year the boys bowling team has placed 5th at the State tournament.

The boys were led by senior Ben Wyatt who posted a 704 series and placed 5th individually at the event. Wyatt is the only bowler on the team to have qualified for State all four years on the team.

Lawrence High also received scores from senior Tanner Kilmer (644), junior Chad Boyd (636), senior Ryan Miller (576), senior Josh Russell (571) and sophomore Riley Gentry (543). (only the top four scores counted towards the overall team score of 2,560)

Next year’s team will lose a lot of experience from graduating four seniors, but will still have the experience of Boyd and Gentry.

“Chad will really tear it up, and Riley has been the most improved bowler we have had since last year,” Head Coach Tom Birt said.
