Fashion trends have a profound influence on LHS students, but few have the unique perspective on it that sophomore Izzy Ginavan has gained. She’s part of a modeling agency in Kansas City, and was recognized by the highly acclaimed magazine, Fashion Week.

“Last year during my freshman year, I went to [a school related event] at KU, and there was someone there who was part of the agency [who said] ‘you should come in sometime’, and I said ‘okay’, and they signed me,” Ginavan said.

Ginavan was excited to be recognized in Fashion Week, but she doesn’t know yet what her involvement with fashion will be in the future. She sees many challenges in pursuing a career in fashion, including image.

“Staying in really good shape [would be a challenge],” Ginavan said. “I love food and I can’t really do that.”

According to Ginavan, fashion is a very personal concept.

“It’s different for everyone,” she said. “It’s just [about] what they like.”
