Opening of Lion’s Den

The Lion’s Den once again opened its doors Jan. 31.

The Lion’s Den is a small shop at the edge of the cafeteria. In the past, it had been known for selling candy and other snacks.

However, according to senior Rachel Scrivner, Club President, the student run shop “can’t sell food items any more, because [they] aren’t allowed to compete with the cafeteria.”

The Den now selling school gear, such as pencils and pens, or even T-shirts, hats, scarves and pins instead. For a limited time, students are selling stuffed bears for $3, lions for $5 and special pins specifically for Valentines day.

The profits are split up among the three different clubs that have partnerships with it. Lion’s Pride supplies the apparel, DECA the school supplies, and FYI the pins/buttons. They are also “open to joining into a partnership with other clubs as well.” said sponser Lisa Burns.

According to Burns, the current best seller is “the Valentine’s Day pins.”

If you have an idea for something you would like them to sell, come on by and leave a note in there suggestion box.

“If we can sell it, we will,” said Burns.

The Lion’s Den will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the future.
