Along with thousands of other high school seniors who lost their last season for spring sports, I lost my last season of swim. This was my last opportunity to compete in the water and just like that, it was taken away from me. Thankfully I had the chance to manage for the boys swim team. Being their manager made me excited for the girls season.  Every meet they attended, I tagged along with my camera to capture every moment. These photos were taken during prelims at the Sunflower League Meet on Feb. 7, 2020.

Back in the swim of things, freshman Max Whittaker dives into the pool during the Sunflower League meet on Feb. 7. The start is one of the most crucial moments during a race, messing up the start can disrupt one’s performance. “It gets in my head and throws me off,” says Whittaker, “but it really forces me to give more effort to catch up and push myself harder.”
