MAP: Parking will be limited at Mud Volleyball
May 1, 2015
Sunday marks the 30th anniversary for Mud Volleyball.
This year, parking will be limited due to construction of the South Lawrence Trafficway, but organizer Jo Huntsinger said she’s looking forward to a fun day.
Huntsinger this week recalled some of the most memorable muddy days.
“When we played by the hospital, there was a guy who would have two buckets,” she said. “He would sit on one and pick up worms with the other. He did this every year and used them as fishing worms.”
Huntsinger even remembered something from one of the first tournaments.
“The most memorable thing was when a fire truck got stuck in some mud, and they also played near a pond and people would jump in to clean themselves off,” she said.
This year, Mud Volleyball will be 11 a.m. to about 7 p.m. Arrive early because of limited parking.
