Spirit Week is a great way to get the student body pumped for the rest of the school year and all it has to offer. Especially the extracurricular activities including sports, like Friday night football, school dances and the homecoming parade. It also lets kids add a little interest or gusto to their everyday wardrobe, no matter how funky or wacky it may seem. For the past week Lhs students have dressed according to theme in order to show their school spirit. The themes ranged from ‘MURICA Monday to Western Wednesday and everything in between. Walking down the hallways between classes anyone can see that Lawrence High students take pride in being a lion and aren’t afraid to show it. Some students went all out for spirit week, for example Caitlin Broadwell on Western Wednesday or Eric Martinez on Crayon Tuesday. Some even stopped and posed for the camera for budget staff members and later ended up on the budget’s instagram page. By the end of the week it was clear lhs has enough school spirit to rival that of the best high schools around. The only way to make spirit week even better for next year is to get the faculty and staff involved too. It would show the students that no matter whom it is or what position they hold school spirit could be found.
