Monday, Oct. 24

No school.

Tuesday, Oct. 25

Varsity soccer will play Washburn Rural High School away at 6 p.m. after advancing from their post-season play-in game on Monday night.

Wrestling preseason workouts. Workouts will take place 3:30-5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meet in the West Gym Lobby. Preseason workouts continue through Oct. 28.

Unified Varsity Bowling competes at Royal Crest Lanes at 3:30 p.m. against Eudora, Seaman, Washburn Rural and Wellsville.

Chesty Academy After School Tutoring takes place 3:15-5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday in Ms. Henry’s room (Room 212).

Track and field pre-season injury prevention workouts will be 3:30-4:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for students not participating in a fall or winter sport. Workouts continue on this schedule up to Winter Break.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

Writers Club meets at 1:40 p.m. in Ms. Johnson’s room (Room 217). Come for a chance to write and share your work in a supportive environment.

Black Student Union will meet from 1:45-2:45p.m. in the cafeteria. Snacks will be provided.

Unity Step Team practices at 1:45p.m. on Wednesday. The group is taking on new members. To join, sign up in Room 281.

Thursday, Oct. 27

The theater department will perform “The Visit” at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Magic Club meets Thursday after school, 3:10-4 p.m. in Room 346. In Magic Club, where we play Magic the Gathering, as well as other trading card games like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon.

Chesty Academy After School Tutoring takes place 3:15-5p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday in Ms. Henry’s room (Room 212).

Philosophy Club meeting at 3:15-4 p.m. in Room 211.

Friendship Bracelet Club meets 3:15-4 p.m. in the library.

Friday,  Oct. 28

The theater department will perform “The Visit” at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

In the pink-out game, the varsity football team will compete against Wichita Heights at 7 p.m. in the LHS football stadium for the first round of football playoffs. Marching band will perform its lights-out show.

Saturday, Oct. 29

The theater department will perform “The Visit” at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

The state cross country meet is at 10:30 a.m. at Rim Rock Farm.

Choir will host a mattress sale fundraiser 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Information you need to know

The Talent Show is Nov. 3, and you can still be part of it. See Ms. Thomas in Student Services as soon as possible. A few spots are left in the show, and volunteers are needed to help. Entry to the event, sponsored by Can We Talk and Safe Club, is free. Students will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the school food pantry. The show starts at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 in the auditorium.

Nov. 7 is the forms deadline for submitting winter sports forms online. All required forms are submitted at www.registermyathlete.com or RMA. Forms must be submitted and approved on RMA to participate in tryouts or practices. Winter sports are basketball, bowling, boys swim/dive and wrestling.
