On May 29, 2010, about 20 Lawrence/Baldwin students will depart to Sharp Top Cove in Jasper, Georgia. This does not serve as a road trip, though. It offers much, much more.
Younglife is a high school Christian fellowship, with the goal of giving high school teens a place to fit in. Multiple LHS students have/will attend Younglife camp. Younglife activities include Club, which occurs throughout the school year, and camp, which occurs for a week during summer. “Leaders” accompany a charter bus full of high school kids to one of the many campgrounds.
Younglife does not serve as a normal Christian camp.
Though it is Christian-based, no pressure is put on campers to act a certain way or to believe a certain belief. Many fun activities come with this camp as well.
“It’s life changing, and you’ll love it and you’ll have a blast,” junior Mary Coldsnow said.
Activities include parasailing, banana boating, laying out on the beach, Club during the evenings, and a popular favorite, the Giant Cookie served at Castaway Club, a Younglife camp in Minnesota.

Many teens also get a much closer connection with their friends, as well as God and Jesus.
“I want to get out of it new friends, and I want to be able to talk to people about God,” sophomore Randy Walter said.
