The underclassman lined the field while the seniors stepped out on to the turf before for their last home game, to be honored by all for their dedication. Although the lions lost 0-1 against Shawnee Mission Northwest, the night was about much more for the seniors.
“I’m sad that it came to an end so quickly. We always have the best fans to support us but it was fun while it lasted,” senior Parker Davies said.
The lions held the Jaguars 0-0 until midway through the first half, when the ball slipped past LHS goalie, Andrew Ornburn, and the Jaguars took the lead.
“Our defense broke down and they got through Andrew and they scored the goal because we had a mental collapse, ”Davies said.
Although, they were never able to gain the lead and ultimately lost 0-1 the lions were able to keep the Jaguars from scoring for the remainder of the game.
“Losing was disappointing, but i thought we played hard,” Davies said.
