This year’s Lion’s Leap featured an “Under the Sea” theme, plunging the student body into an vibrant evening of memorable dancing.
Student council transformed the courtyard into an underwater adventure, with colorful lighting and lively games.
Junior class president Izabella Myers worked behind the scenes planning required collaborative efforts of creativity.
“We all voted on themes. It was really a group effort,” Myers said. “I remember the day of the event; everyone was kind of stressed, but that helped us bond.”
Senior class President Sylvia Oparaji said the team chose “Under the Sea” for its simplicity.
“We wanted something simple, and ‘Under the Sea’ just felt right. It allowed us to focus on fun activities like the photo booth and naming the drinks,” Oparaji said.
This year’s dance included a new form of entertainment..
“We had limbo, which was super fun because everyone could participate at the same time,” Oparaji said. “It brought people together and made the event feel more engaging.”
For freshmen, the annual Lion’s Leap dance is a segway into high school excitement. Freshman Cole Ward shared his thoughts on attending his first high school dance.
“I kind of expected it to be empty since it was the first dance, but my favorite part was when everyone was told to jump in the circle.” Ward said.
Junior Justyss Smith said that this year’s Lion’s Leap was well executed.
“I thought the limbo was a great addition,” she said. “It was really fun. The energy from the kids was super high, and it added to the atmosphere.”
