The Lawrence High vs Free State basketball game took place on Friday, February 28th hosted by the Firebirds. This was second meeting between the two, the Lions boys team swept the Firebirds winning 67 – 48 in the first showdown, and 68 – 61 the second time around.  However this game was more than just the average rivalry game.  Both the schools collaborated a “Coral” theme, in respect of Free State freshman Madison Burhns, who was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer.  Her favorite color being coral, students were encouraged to wear a coral colored t-shirt to the game saying “Making Miracles for Madison”.
