Why do you think you were nominated for winter court?

Justin Roberts: I don’t know, I was pretty surprised that I was. I’m good friends with a lot of the people around here and the candidates as well. So, I guess I was just lucky.

Matt Ramaley: I haven’t really thought about that much. Personally I’d like to think that it’s because I try to be very caring to people I meet. I try to be very open, I don’t tend to be exclusive with who my friends are. I don’t talk negatively about anybody.

How did you find out that you are in the winter court?

Daonte’ Lowery: I received congratulations texts. I don’t have a first hour so I wasn’t here to hear but that’s how. It was pretty cool. I wasn’t really expecting it.

Matt Ramaley: I found out, uh, I do the announcements in the morning. I do chesty’s chat. So I was sitting there looking looking up what I was going to say that day and Stephan said my name. But I was kinda in shock, I thought I had won one of those ROAR ticket things, so I was going to get some candy and I was a little bit hungry. But instead I was told that I was on winter court.

Nicole Owens: I was actually doing the announcements during second hour and that’s how I found out.

Who is your winter court partner?

Kyleigh Severa: Daonte’ Lowery

Daonte’ Lowery: I’m not sure. Is it bad that I don’t know?

Fred Brou: Katie Murrish is my partner. She is really nice. We went to elementary school together so I’ve known her since first grade.

Kiera Snodgrass: I am partnered with Matthew Ramaley. I’ve known him a long time.

Joaquin Dorado: My partner is the one, the only, the best Nicole “Money” Owens.

Who in the winter court would you like to win?

Justin Roberts: Probably Fred because we are on the same Basketball team. For a girl, probably Macey cause she’s my partner. I’m good friends with both of them and we have like, a special connection.

Kyleigh Severa: I really want Kiera to win. And as far as the boys I think all candidates would be a good choice.

Do you think that there is someone that should be in the winter court that’s not in it?

Matt Jacobsen: I think we miss Alan Clothier. He is handsome, the quarterback for the football team and he is also one of my best friends. I think he should have been in it.

Daonte’ Lowery:  There’s a lot of genuine people that could be in it. No one specifically, but a lot of genuine people.

Matt Ramaley: Gee whiz, these are hard questions. I think this is a very tough question. You really have to get into what constructs a winter court or a homecoming court. Regardless of how you do it, there’s always someone who you believe was left out. Then again, you have to look at what constitutes a candidate. Is it the most morally upright person? Is it the most popular guy? I think in this winter court we are getting a little bit of both. I know there’s a lot of great guys and gals who are on it.

Nicole Owens: Coach Wedd for sure

What do you think about the theme this year?

Matt Jacobsen: It’s going to be enchanted.

Justin Roberts: I mean I’ve never really been to the actual formal. So this will be my first time since I’m on court. But I’m sure I’ll like it.

Kaitlyn Preut: I actually really like the theme. I talked to art club today about what they are going to do to decorate it and it sounds like it’s going to be really nice and pretty. It sounds simple but in a good way. I think it’s going to look clean and nice. I think art club always have something really unique with the way that they interpret the theme to decorations.

Joaquin Dorado: I have honestly no opinion towards the theme. I think that the theme is fine because it was a theme that was picked by the student body and the student body was given democracy over what type of theme they wanted for winter formal and they picked Enchanted Forest so I’m okay with it.

Who would you want to be trapped in an enchanted forest with?

Matt Jacobsen: The whole LHS Football team.

Justin Roberts: Anyone? Kim Kardashian

Kyleigh Severa: Definitely Matt Ramaley.

Kaitlyn Preut: Probably former president Jimmy Carter. He is my favorite president.

Kiera Snodgrass: I’d be in a forest with my friend Matthew Ramaley. He would always fight off mean guys.

Who would you be in an enchanted forest?

Fred Brou: The wolf from the little red riding hood.

Daonte’ Lowery: Hm. I would probably be a Gnome.

Joaquin Dorado: I would be a satyr who has a unicorn for a pet.

What is your dream theme?

Kyleigh Severa: Candy theme with lots of chocolate.

Kaitlyn Preut: One of the three themes that were suggested was disco and I kind of like that because I think that it would be a really fun theme. I think that people would really get into it and dress for it and that would be cool.

Matt Ramaley: Night in Tijuana

Nicole Owens: Something having to do with Hannah Montana.

How excited are you on a scale from 1 to 10?

Matt Jacobsen: I’m unbelievable enthused. You can put me down for an eleven.

Daonte’ Lowery: seven

Kiera Snodgrass: ten

Joaquin Dorado: An honest 9.2
