Get help applying for financial aid on Sunday

By Cortlynn Stark

Students can get help filling out financial aide forms during College Goal Sunday.

The event is 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the library at Haskell Indian Nations University. The event helps high school seniors complete the FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Financial aide professionals will be available to help students, and students who attend can also qualify for a $500 scholarship.

“College Goal Sunday is an awesome opportunity for students to, No. 1, go get help on their financial aid application,” counselor Natalie Konkel said. “But No. 2, just for attending, just for showing up to get help, you get to throw your name into a drawing for a $500 scholarship. No need to fill out an application or write an essay or anything like that. There’s potentially $500 of free money on the table, so it’s a really good opportunity to get your questions answered and maybe get some money for college as well.”

Seniors should also remember that the deadline to apply for local scholarships is Monday.
