The Budget Online gets to know this year’s Winter Court candidates. Students voted for their winter formal theme: Carnival of Lights.

Winter Court schedule:

Assembly: Thursday, Feb. 9

Winter Court basketball game: 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10

Winter formal: 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at LHS (Tickets cost $7 in advance, $10 at the door)

Kobe Buffalomeat

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “Probably someone that wrestles that bear. Isn’t there someone that always wrestles that bear at a carnival or something?”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Shooting. Like shooting the baskets. Or trying to knock down the pins.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “All the junk food.”

Grace Divilbiss

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “An aerialist.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “The one where you get to throw darts at the balloons because I get to stand close because I am very bad at it.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “All the food.”

Nico Carlson

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would run concessions.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “My dad used to be a baseball player so he would always win the game where there are milk cartons and you throw the ball at the milk cartons and he would always win. But I’m not him.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? 

“I am a big fan of nachos but if they don’t have nachos I’ll get lemonade.”

Carson Drake

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would be the ringmaster.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “The hammer that tells you how strong you are.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “The food, funnel cakes and fried Oreos.”

Bryce Dunn

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would be a clown to entertain people and scare them.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Do the slides count? I’m going to go with the slides.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “Still the slides, especially with the potato sacks.”

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would run the rides.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Anything where you win big prizes.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “Eating the carnival food.”

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would probably be selling funnel cakes.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Probably the one where you throw the ball in the fish bowl and win a fish.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “Probably the atmosphere.”

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would give the water to the elephants.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “The one where you use the hammer and hit the thing and it says how strong you are. Makes me feel weak.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “Hanging out with friends and winning prizes.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Probably be the one where you have to throw the rings on the bottles. “

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “I’ve only ever been to one carnival but probably the food or candy.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Anything where you get to win a goldfish.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “Again, winning fish.”

What is your favorite carnival game? “Ring toss, or the thing where you get the fish. My record for keeping a fish is 3 days.”

What is your favorite part about carnivals? “Funnel cakes. My world record for eating funnel cakes is five.”

If you were a carnie, what would your job be? “I would be a dancer. Do they even have those at carnivals?”

What is your favorite carnival game? “I don’t really know if I have ever been to a carnival but I say it would be like the house of mirrors.”
